phTapiaBaltazar Tapia, President

Sergeant Baltazar Tapia started his career with the Port Hueneme Police Department in 1997 as a Cadet, Reserve Officer and eventually a full time police officer in 1998.  He has worked in investigation, Special Problems Unit, K-9, Senior Officer and recently as a Sergeant in patrol.

 


Michael Hamrick, Vice Presidentno bio image

Mike Hamrick joined the Port Hueneme Police Department in 2010 after serving 20 years with the San Bernardino Police Depaartment. Officer Hamrick previously served as Investigations Representative for the San Bernardino Police Officers Association.

Officer Galvan was first elected to the position in 2005 and has been part of the PHPOA's negotiation team and has received certifications in Labor Negotiations, Internal Affairs, and Association Leadership.  Officer Galvan has been a Dispatcher with the Port Heuneme Police Department since 2001 and holds a Bachelors degree in Law Enforcement Management/Occupational Studies from Cal State Long Beach and a Master degree in Public Administration from Cal State Northridge.

phGeriGeri Harbin, Member

Geri DeSanno Harbin is the Dispatch/Records Supervisor for the Port Hueneme Police Department.  She began her law enforcement career while still in high school as an Explorer Scout with the Oxnard Police Department later becoming an Advisor for the program.  While at OPD, she was hired as a Police Cadet assigned to the Traffice Division with collateral duties in Records and Progerty & Evedence. In 1989, Geri was hired by the Port Hueneme Police Department as Dispatcher/Records Clerk/Prisoner Matron.  She also spent several years as the Support Services Officer assigned as Court Liaison, property & Evidence Clerk and Jail/Trustee Manager, eventually returning to the Dispatch/Records Division.  Geri graduated from Santa Clara High School in Oxnard, attended Oxnard and Ventura Community Colleges as well as Learning Tree University.  Geri has a son, Matthew, also a member of the Port Hueneme Police Department, assigned as a Reserve Police Officer.
